The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter has demanded of the government to immediately release pensions and arrears to health departmentâ€(tm)s retired employees, professors, and doctors, otherwise threatened to launch a protest campaign. The association provincial president Dr Hussain Haroon while condemning the alleged irregularities, unconstitutional and illegal acts in the provincial health department said that the health department was come on the verge of collapse, said in a press release issued here on Sunday. He also urged the government to sense the gravity of situations and stop illegal and anti-health department steps forthwith.

Criticizing the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led government, he said the provincial health department is working under the control of an American citizen Dr Nowsherwan Barki, who has neither concern with the law nor of the merit policy in all the routine matters. By making privatization of the provincial health department, he alleged that the health sector, which care the ailing humanity, was turned into an industry, due to which neither life saving medicines nor other necessary equipment are available in the hospitals.
